One truck driver killed; Another injured in head-on collision in Lucknow

A fatal head-on collision occurred on Sunday morning between two trucks in the Mohanlalganj area of Lucknow, resulting in the death of one truck driver and severe injuries to another.

The collision, attributed to reduced visibility caused by dense fog, took place around 7 am near the ITBP camp in the village of Jaita. The impact of the crash was so intense that both trucks sustained significant damage, trapping the drivers inside for an extended period.

Following the collision, emergency response efforts were delayed, and it took approximately three hours for local authorities to arrive at the scene based on information from residents. Once the police reached the site, they initiated relief and rescue operations, deploying JCB machines to separate the entangled trucks and extract the trapped drivers.

Harish Chandra, a 42-year-old resident of Ambedkar Nagar, driving towards Kanpur with his truck, lost his life in the collision. The other driver, Rajit Ram, a 20-year-old Balrampur resident transporting onions, was rescued and transported to the Mohanlalganj health center for medical attention.
